A list of all DVD's I have restored/created. This list is NOT static. I am adding new items as I create them, and I constantly remove items as I become aware that they are or MAY be released commercially. Please note: If you request a copy of something from me, understand that you are NOT compensating me in any way for the actual content. A LOT of time and effort has gone into this and each video/movie is a labor of love. Some of the movies here were done at the request of a specific fan community, and if you have a list of things that a lot of people in your “community” might like, drop me a note. If you have questions about how you can do this yourself, I will be happy to answer, but I cant tell you which button to click all the way through the whole process. The first rule of thumb is MONEY: the equipment to get the results I get was NOT cheap, and there’s no way to fudge it with cheap or no gear at all. No matter what the box says, a 200$ graphics card cannot capture video as good as a dedicated 400$ or more capture card. No matter what anyone says, VCD is NOT as good as DVD. No matter what anyone says, you cannot put 2 hours of video on a DVD-R without a noticable drop in quality compared to the original (this is changing with dual layer DVD-R, but thats still too new to be of consequence here yet). There isn’t a short cut you can take to bypass all of the work ( see the PROCESS page) and still get close to the same results. It takes patience, technology and enough love for what your doing that you learn it and stick with it. PLEASE don't complain about the lack of artwork, packaging or extras if you recieve a DVD from me in trade. This project is about saving works of art and cultural experience ( I cant possible call Linda Lovelace For President art) to the best of my ability, and NOT about competing with or supplanting commercial DVD's. Its not about making fake collectors editions, or replacing actual commercial DVDs. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES will I copy or edit commercially released DVDs. Period. I dont want to hear how mad you are they released the DVD 2 weeks after you bought the tape on ebay for 45$. In an ideal world, ALL OF THIS WILL EVENTUALLY BE RELEASED and I expect anyone who gets a DVD from me to buy the official version. We are fans, and fans pay artists and the companies that distribute them their due. Anything that I find is or might be released officially is off this list immediately. The only exception to this is the occasional Japanese DVD release. Many of these are not legitimate releases and made under questionable dark areas of Japanese copyright law. Most have Japanese subtitles and are exhorbitantly expensive to buy here because they are not legitimately imported. The hole in Japanese law that often produce these only exists for DVDs produced to be sold in Japan, and as a result importing them often takes 3 and 4 middle men. In addition most artists never recieve a dime from these because they are created under previous contracts instead of new negotiations. Many titles like this are un-releaseable in the US for various reasons, and the Japanese DVDs become lucrative ventures for small companies that come and go in the time it takes to make and sell 5,000 DVDs. We should ALWAYS pay the artists for their love and work. I will remove any title from this list that gets released commecially ( in 3 years there have been 9 titles that have made it to commercial release) Unfortunately, we seem pay the R*I*A*A and the M*P*A*A to sue people instead of find and publish new and exciting music, or even restore and reintroduce the material that broke the ground for what they sell today. We certainly dont seem to be paying them to preserve our rich history of sound and image that helped make us who we are today. We would, but they have to have it for sale first.... |
